Aimee Hospodarsky - President
Hello and welcome,
I am honored to serve on the ISCA board as the President. As the professional organization for school counselors in Iowa, we strive to be a valuable resource for school counselors in their work. My hope is that ISCA can supply tools for your counseling toolbox in many ways: resources for your program, ideas for advocacy, curriculum ideas, access to professional development opportunities, and networking with others who do what you do, to name a few.
This is my 17th year as a school counselor and my 23rd year in education. Time flies! I am currently an elementary school counselor in Monticello, Iowa, though I have also worked as a middle school counselor and have taught kindergarten, third, and sixth grades. I have had the unique experience of working with a variety of ages in both urban and rural settings. Each experience has uniquely prepared me for my work today.
I received my undergraduate degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Iowa, and my MSE in Elementary School Counseling from Drake University.
Personally, my husband and I have two sons, Tyler and Grant. I enjoy being outside (as long as it’s warm!), reading, music, dreaming of Disney vacations, and spending time with my family.
I hope to see you at our conference. If there is anything I can help you with as a school counselor, please feel free to contact me!
